Here are my top picks for the best games for a low end PC user. Just because a game has been out for a while doesn’t mean that it isn’t awesome. Don’t forget to like and subscribe.
If you are like a lot of other people, you can’t run the latest, high quality games on higher settings. Maybe you have a lower end PC, or maybe you just made the switch over from consoles. Whatever the scenario, this video should help. I’m Caleb Crisp, and today we are counting down my picks for the 10 best games for an inexpensive PC.
Coming in at number 10, we have minecraft. While I don’t personally play this game anymore. There was a short period of a few months where I really enjoyed it. And there is no denying its popularity or its appeal. You can build magnificent castles, houses, mansions. Of course, many people play for the mods. It is easily the most popular sandbox, and can easily be run on most machines with a playable fps.
Left 4 Dead 2:
Next up, we have Left for dead 2. Here is another game that I used to play for quite a bit. It goes on sale all the time for like 2 dollars, and I don’t know a single person on steam who doesn’t own it. I definitely recommend it. I personally have around 30-40 hours in it, bu others play it much more. This zombie shooting fps is quite enjoyable.
Number 8 goes to Garry’s mod. This game is like Minecraft on Steroids. Rather than build castles and other architectural feats that can’t really move, why don’t you use your real life degree in aerospace engineering to build a rocket in the game, because you can do that. This is a true sandbox that allows you to import assets from other games to create your own. This game is so open that it almost qualifies as a game engine by itself. Many indie games started off as GMOD servers. And whats even better is that you can even run it on lower end systems.
At number 7, we have Rust. If you want a sandbox game that you can join and over time have a fortress to yourself and a small army of your friends that you use to attack others, then rust is definitely for you. I’ve played the game off and on since release and have had a great time. They do frequently reset the servers because it is in Alpha or Beta I forget which. But you can still have a great time with this game.
At number 6, we have portal and portal 2. I know some people are going to give me crap about not putting these games higher up, but let me present my argument. These games are absolutely wonderful until you beat them They are seriously some of the best games you will play, but I beat portal 1 in under 3 hours. Portal 2 took longer but not as long as newer games. These games are where they are on the list because you can run them on anything, they are incredibly fun, but they wont offer near as many hours of gameplay as other games.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
Everyone’s favorite brutal medieval warfare game takes number 5. I’m going to be honest, this game almost didn’t make the cut. Not because it isn’t fun, because it is (especially with your friends). Nor because it doesn’t have enough gameplay hours (because I have over 80) but because you at least need some sort of dedicated graphics or at least a higher level integrated one. This was not true at release, but this game has grown more demanding over the years. I’d say if you have a GTX 280, you should be fine. Or something that also gives a gig of GDDR3 Video memory. Anyway, this game is good fun, and I highly recommend it.
Warhammer 40K Dawn of War 2:
Dawn of War 2 and Retribution take the cake for number 4. These games are phenomenal. Retribution is a DLC pack for DOW2 but the content that it offers is essentially and entirely new game. It is abut 25 dollars. If that is out of your price range, then pick up DOW2 Retribution, the Last standalone. It, of course is a standalone pack that gives you the Last stand game mode, where you and two friends play one of many characters from the Warhammer 40K universe and survive against 20 waves of hordes of enemies on 2 different maps. The Last standalone is 5 dollars and comes with all but 2 characters who were added as DLCs later. In fact, just a few weeks ago they added another one which is surprising considering the age of the game. All of the characters feature wonderful dialogue and a unique play style. If you want an enjoyable RTS with a storyline, then DOW2 is definitely for you. These all go on sale frequently so check steam for when THQ titles are cheap.
